The Hartford County incident took place in Manchester.
In May, the Manchester Police Department received information that Jesus Manuel Figueroa, age 32, of Hartford, was suspected of sexually abusing a minor child, said Lt. Ryan Shea, of the Manchester Police Department.
Detectives conducted an extensive investigation and a warrant for the arrest of Figueroa was issued, Shea said.
On Wednesday, July 6, investigators, assisted by members of the Hartford Police Department Violent Crimes Unit, took Figueroa into custody, he added.
Figueroa has been charged with:
- Seven counts of sexual assault
- Strangulation or suffocation
- Seven counts of risk of injury to/impairing morals of a minor
Figueroa is currently being held on a court-set $750,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, July 7.
